What it means

Visa 13.2 is when a customer claims they canceled their subscription but you billed them anyway. The most common chargeback for SaaS, streaming, and any auto-billing business. Proving the customer didn't actually cancel — or canceled after the billing date — is the whole game.

Required evidence

What you need to win

  • Subscription terms accepted at signup (timestamped + IP)
  • Cancellation policy with click-through acknowledgment
  • Server logs showing no cancellation request before the billing date
  • Customer's billing history — prior charges they didn't dispute
  • Any reminder emails sent before renewal
Playbook

How to actually do it

  1. 01. Send the signup TOS with the customer's IP, timestamp, and 'I agree' click event.
  2. 02. Show your cancellation flow — UI screenshots, the email confirmation customers get when they DO cancel.
  3. 03. Pull server logs for the disputed user account in the 30 days before the charge.
  4. 04. Include the auto-renewal reminder email Stripe or your system sent (most processors require this).
Common mistakes

Don't do this

  • Not having a clear cancellation flow — issuers will side with the customer.
  • Forgetting the renewal reminder email — Visa mandates it.
  • Submitting only the original signup, not the user's full account history.
